Join Us for the ICEBREAK Speaker Series: Intercultural Connections & Experiences Building Reconciliation, Engagement, Awareness, and Knowledge virtual series

RDN is thrilled to present the ICEBREAK Speaker Series – an inspiring and thought-provoking event that seeks to foster dialogue, break down barriers, and build trust through solution-focused conversations. ICEBREAK is all about creating a safe space in both social and professional networks, promoting inclusive thinking, acceptance, and intercultural connections.

From September to November, join us for four unique speaking sessions featuring renowned speakers who will share their personal stories, insights, and cultural experiences. These sessions will highlight the strength and resiliency of Indigenous Peoples and newcomers to Canada, covering topics, such as overcoming adversity, cultural preservation, and empowerment.

Whether you are an Indigenous community member, a newcomer, an ally, or someone eager to learn more about different cultures, this series offers a valuable opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and contribute to meaningful conversations around reconciliation and inclusion.

Join Sandi Boucher (Mishkopaganakwe of Seine River First Nation in Treaty #3 territory), a much-loved Indigenous/Canadian Reconciliation Speaker as she highlights for participants the four teachings that will assist you to engage more effectively and respectfully with Indigenous individuals and communities, with colleagues and coworkers, and with family members and friends.

The BIPOC Foundation is honored to present the “What’s Next? Exploring the Six for Six Strategy” workshop. This presentation will focus on empowering immigrants, people of color, and rural residents across Canada by guiding them through six critical tiers of life, from family integration to personal well-being. It will help attendees understand what resources, opportunities, and strategies they can access and implement to navigate the challenges they face.

This interactive and engaging presentation is designed to provide tangible takeaways for each participant, no matter their background or stage in life. By blending a mixture of lecture and interactive engagement, we aim to create an informative and inspiring session that caters to the diversity of experiences within the target audience.

The Six for Six Strategy outlines key life tiers: Family, Student, Entrepreneur, Community Builder/Artist, Community Member, and Personal Well-being, with an overarching goal of helping participants leverage available resources, tap into community support, and embrace their cultural strengths. The strategy will provide actionable steps, helping participants understand what’s next for them and how they can continue to thrive and succeed.
