We are a non-profit organization that works with rural, remote and Indigenous communities and organizations in Canada. We collaborate to identify and bring focus to rural issues, build local capacity, and develop innovative, rural-based solutions to social and economic challenges.
Thriving rural communities
Working with communities and partners, through networks we build capacity by developing tools and resources, implementing projects, facilitating access to funding and trusted data, while amplifying the rural voice.
RDN collaborates closely with respected Elders and Knowledge Keepers from diverse regions on Turtle Island. Ethical considerations are foundational to RDN’s work, demonstrating a commitment to responsible and culturally sensitive research that respects Indigenous communities’ rights, values, and contributes to broader goals of reconciliation and knowledge preservation.
Diversity and inclusion are our greatest assets, fostering strength and unity – whether within the RDN, in the rural landscapes of Alberta, or across Canada. We acknowledge and support the unique needs of our diverse team, clients, and stakeholders. RDN recognizes that diversity is a crucial element in the work that we do, and sees it as the foundational ingredient to success in rural communities.
