WARM Up Your Community – Free Information Session

Are you working with newcomers in rural Northwest and Central Alberta? Join us to WARM Up Your Community, a free information session introducing the Building Rural Community Champions through Knowledge Sharing Training Series focused on how to Welcome, Attract, Retain, and Motivate (WARM) Newcomers. The train-the-trainer series runs from late February to May 2026.

Whether you employ newcomers, are new to settlement work, provide social services, or would like to learn more about creating a welcoming and inclusive community, this short information session is a great first step to learn how the WARM training can help strengthen your community’s welcoming capacity.

What You’ll Learn:

✅ What the project offers
✅ Who can participate
✅ How communities can benefit

The Rural Development Network (RDN), in partnership with Action for Healthy Communities (AHC) and the Yellowhead Regional Library System (YRL) are developing a train-the-trainer virtual training program for rural communities in Alberta, to create community champions to support the successful attraction, settlement and retention of newcomers in Alberta.
