Rural Development Network is excited to partner with V3 Companies of Canada on the Alberta Land Readiness Project to help municipalities better understand what land is truly ready for development, and what barriers may be holding it back. By combining RDN’s experience working with rural communities with V3’s technical and planning expertise, the project will provide practical tools and insights to help municipalities identify opportunities, focus their efforts, and unlock land for much-needed growth and development.

Alberta municipalities have land identified for growth. The challenge is knowing what is actually ready to move, what is holding other sites back, and where municipal action could make the difference.
Selected pilot communities will receive approximately $30,000 in grant-funded technical support, including a Land Readiness Tool applied to their community, GIS analysis and practical support to identify and unlock development opportunities.
A parcel can look ready on a map and still be years away from construction.
Servicing capacity, infrastructure timing, planning requirements, ownership, market conditions and other constraints can all stand between “developable” and “ready to move.”
The Alberta Land Readiness Tool brings those pieces together so municipalities can see their development pipeline more clearly and focus attention where it can have the greatest impact.
