The 2025 Alberta Provincial Housing and Service Needs Estimation Report

The Rural and Remote Alberta 2025 Provincial Community Report is here!

In 2025, the Rural Development Network (RDN) partnered with 19 organization as representing 64 communities across Alberta to conduct the fourth iteration of a province-wide Housing and Service Needs Estimation.

This report outlines the overall results of the provincial estimation, highlighting the number of residents who are housing insecure and their experiences with housing insecurity. It is intended to support decision-making across organizations, funders, and government around housing insecurity by providing reliable and up-to-date data on housing and service needs across rural and remote Alberta. It can also be used in communities for program planning and advocacy purposes related to housing insecurity, housing stock, and service needs.

The pages below are organized for the 2025 estimations as follows:

  • A provincial‑level report summarizing key patterns across Alberta
  • Community‑specific reports that show what homelessness looks like in individual rural and remote areas
  • Infographics 2023 only that translate complex data into accessible visuals for public awareness and decision‑making

Together, these resources help municipalities, service providers, and funders better understand the scale and nature of rural homelessness, supporting evidence‑based planning and advocacy.
